The package consists of series of self-assessment questions on various aspects of pharmaceutical microbiology. While answering a series of questions, students are at all times informed of how well they are doing, and an inbuilt recording facility also allows staff to see how each of the students is performing.

The package is designed to provide students with the opportunity to reinforce, extend and revise course material in microbiology. To increase interest, the questions are presented in a variety of forms: there are multiple choice questions, multiple response questions, text entry questions, drag boxes questions and many others. Graphics are used extensively throughout the package and feedback is provided to every question.
