STUDENT ID

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WERE MEANT TO LEARN FROM THE PACKAGE?

FROM THE SECTIONS YOU STUDIED, WHAT, IF ANYTHING, DID YOU FIND EASY TO GRASP?

FROM THE SECTIONS YOU STUDIED, WHAT, IF ANYTHING, DID YOU FIND DIFFICULT TO GRASP?

ANY FURTHER COMMENTS OR OBSERVATIONS

20181

It got very monotonous but I learnt about correct prescriptions/labels /leaflets and some errors to look out for.

That there are many potential errors. But a lot in the labels section was irrelevant as it is all done by the computer.

Nothing - but it was all so tedious it won't stick in my memory at all - I felt very little overall benefit.

About one and a half hours - although the package made it feel more like four. It needs to be more stimulating rather than clicking a mouse button on `continue' several times.

20291

Prescription errors and labelling errors. Basic requirements.

What errors were found in prescription.

Nothing in particular, but so much information appeared on the screen it was a lot to take. It would be more useful if condensed into the more useful points.

The program was slow, some parts seemed a bit irrelevant.

20391

The main points to notice about prescriptions and labelling and their legal requirements.

What was wrong with prescriptions.

I wouldn't do the package all at once - after labelling I was losing my concentration. For warnings you need to have a BNF with you and with things like some of the drugs which are incompatible we don't have enough experience or knowledge at the moment for all of them so that might be a guess sometimes - but that probably happens in real life too!

20481

Basic understanding of ethics, rules and guidelines that apply to the topics covered.

label section.

I found the package very easy to follow and understand.

20591

The correct way to write prescriptions and to notice errors and forgeries. The correct way to print labels.

The layout of labels and the correct way that prescriptions should be written. How information leaflets can be made easier to understand by patients.

Interactions of drugs on the same prescription and what warnings to put on advice labels.

I was worried about the things we were expected to know such as drug interactions, strengths of drugs suitable for babies to take and what strengths certain drugs come in, as I didn't know these things.

20691

How to identify errors on prescriptions, correct writing of labels and their presentation, layout of labels and their perception by the public.

Prescription labelling section.

If I had had more time to absorb the info I was obtaining from the package it would have been more beneficial and I could have remembered more to apply to questions just answered.

20791

Learn to spot mistakes in Prescriptions and labels and learn how to write these correctly.

How to identify mistakes on prescriptions and labels. The diagrams and pictures were very useful.

One and a half. More time should be devoted to the use of computers both related and unrelated to course of study.

20881

About prescriptions, labels and patient information leaflets.

Structure of labels and layout.

One and a half hours. - very useful.

20981

Learn to identify mistakes on prescriptions and labels.

The package is in general easy to understand and well tried out.

1.5 h. Set out different sections for 1st years, 2nd years and 3rd years. Slightly confusing on what we are expected to know.

21091

Increase our knowledge of prescriptions and enable us to pick out irregularities. How to construct labels for medicines.

Spotting irregularities in prescriptions except for contra indications.

Irregularities in labelling and the addition of BNF warnings

1.5h. The package was very long and ideally more time was needed as it is very easy to rush through the programme without taking anything in.

21181

Learn about community dispensing.

Everything

Nothing

1.5 hours.

21291

Requirements of Pt's, how to label and necessary patient information on leaflets.

Most things.

Information from moving statements.

The package is quite helpful and easy to understand and plough through.

21391

To clarify some points and also to test whether the knowledge learnt could be applied.

Most of the information was easy to understand and it highlighted some important points.

Sometimes I got confused with which sections I've done. Also the bit on drugs interactions - selecting BNF precautions numbers because we didn't have the information.

One and a half hours. I liked the tests at the end because you had to apply the information you've learnt in situations.

21481

The legal and ethical requirements for prescriptions and medicine labelling. Also, patient counselling points.

Prescription requirements, labelling and patient management.

In the labelling section it was not always clear whether it referred to labelling original packing or dispensed medication.

2.5 hrs.

21591

The Basic Principles and requirements of Prescriptions, labels etc. and how to deal with errors and abnormalities.

Most of the package was easy to follow and understand except warnings, interactions and reasons for interactions.

Only the areas which we have yet to be taught, i.e. the warnings and their numbers and drug interactions.

Time spent = 3 hrs (1.5 on package alone (entered '2')). The package itself was very useful although the length of time taken was too much, once I have finished I lost interest but had to stay.

21691

All relevant restrictions and rules concerning Prescriptions labels + PIL, also to help recognise mistakes.

How to work the package.

All the information in only 1.5 hrs.

Worked for 1.5 hrs on package.

21791

Requirements for prescriptions, labels etc.

The whole package was easy to understand.

None.

I spent about 1.5 hrs working on this package and found most of it relatively easy to do. However on the prescription testing I was unable to do the incompatibilities as we have not yet covered this and also when changing warnings on the label there was no code list that I could find.

21891

A better understanding of community practice and knowledge of the legal requirements governing it.

Most of the information presented was easy to understand and presented in a straight-forward way.

The section on noticing drug interactions was difficult because as yet I have no extensive knowledge of such interactions so a lot was guesswork.

I spent about 1hr 30 mins on the package and found it useful but feel I need more time to take in much of the information and also learn a little more before attempting the test sections. Also we were not given a list of numbers in the package for "warnings" for labels, which made that section difficult to complete correctly.

21991

Basic requirements of prescriptions labels etc. Legislation etc.

Prescriptions - made me more aware of requirements. Labelling - also clear but I didn't finish PIL's

Nothing - all laid out simply. Except that in the labelling test questions we were expected to know numbers for warnings - no list provided(?)

13/4 hours. It has encouraged me to use the package again as I found it helpful - lectures are boring and I've learned a lot more from the computer.

22091

To recognise the problems that can arise in Community Practice and how to solve them.

The package as a whole was easy to grasp, but I don't know enough about medicines and their strengths etc., to take full advantage of it.

Placing 'warnings' on the labels was difficult as we weren't told the corresponding numbers to the warnings. It was difficult to recognise the problems of 'interactions' on the prescriptions as I don't know enough about the drugs.

I spent 1 hour 15 mins working with the package.

22191

The information provided

1 hour, 30 mins, the time was not enough to complete the package, however the package was well laid out and easily understandable.

22291

The principles underlying practice of pharmacy.

Labels.

Learning all the legal requirements.

1.5 hrs. The package is a good learning aid. It reinforces the knowledge from lectures, books. Good programmes!

22391

Errors on prescriptions, what's required, what's on a label and where. How information helps the patient.

The main things required on labels and prescriptions.

If all the warnings were present already on the label.

1.5 hours.

22491

The importance of putting the lecture material into practice.

All sections were clearly defined. The "test" sections were easy to use and gave you an indication of progress.

Approx. 1 hour. The Evaluation Sheets were quite difficult to answer in that it was easy to misinterpret what was required.

22591

General rules & regulations regarding prescriptions & labels & PIL. Info. on what to watch out for. the particular areas to be aware of.

General information conveyed.

All the detail required to take in in a short period of time.

Just over 1 hour.

22681

We were meant to gain knowledge of prescriptions, labels, PILs via examples.

Prescription errors.

Time spent 1.5 hours.

22791

Increase knowledge already gained from lectures and use the packages as a means of revising subjects.

Instructions were clear so most sections were easy to understand.

About 1.5 hours by the end of the time allocated for the package I have to say I was getting slightly bored.

22881

Correct dispensing and labelling techniques.

Patient information leaflets.

All the requirements for a correct prescription are not always easy to spot.

1-2 hours, I found the package overall useful and informative, although a little tedious in parts.

22991

Information to help us follow legal and professional requirements when/if we enter community pharmacy.

Everything.

Time spent ~ 1.5 hours. It is useful to be presented prescriptions/labels and be asked what is wrong with them, as it makes you think about the requirements.

23091

I think I was meant to increase my general knowledge of what is required from community pharmacists in the way of spotting errors on prescriptions and labels.

Labelling positioning and what should be on them.

Nothing really, apart from warnings - because didn't have a copy of the BNF.

Approximately 1 hour. I found it good because it made me think and therefore would be a good revision aid also.

23191

Parts of dispensing practice which I had not covered, before I start my practical dispensing.

Labels: The labelling procedures required by the General Labelling Provisions.

Some information relating to private prescriptions.

2.5 hrs. Excellent way of teaching i.e. bringing over information required in an illustrative and understandable form.

23291

Relevant information and problem solving.

The work was easy to read, and expressed precisely.

~ 2 hours. I believe I learnt quite a lot of information that I had forgotten or did not know. This is a useful way of 'refreshing' knowledge without burying your head in a book.

23881

To develop knowledge of Clinical Pharmacy by being given examples to work with.

The use of the package through its layout on the screen and the use of a mouse and icons to click on.

Nothing.

» 90 minutes. a good learning aid in addition to lectures, workshops etc. Allows us to work at our own pace -not rushed.

23681

Embellishment of current knowledge and application of that knowledge.

Patient Information leaflets.

Just over 2 hours. I was slightly annoyed that on the prescription and labelling testing areas of the package, I knew the correct answer but it took some time and searching to find the correct area to click on to show that I knew what was wrong.

23791

About prescriptions, labels, patient info. leaflets. The requirements and what to look for how to deal with.

Requirements for what had to be on a prescription having e.g's helped.

Facts of MA and points that only differed slightly from situation to situation, comparison tables might be good.

» 2 hrs. - comparison tables would be good.

23891

To understand the basic knowledge behind community practice and to be able to see any mistakes on labels/prescriptions that we might be presented with. It improves our awareness and ensures that we are very careful when checking prescriptions etc.

Since all the information was fairly simplistically laid out, it was easy to grasp all the basic knowledge of how a prescription should be laid out and how labelling should be done etc.

1.5.

23981

A better understanding of dispensary requirements. Clear and concise.

The errors in the prescriptions.

About 1.5 hrs. I got a bit fed up with clicking the mouse all the time to go to the next page. The system should allow you to have a automatic page after page option.

24091

To recognise mistakes in prescriptions/labels.leaflets. The importance of correct communication with patients.

The leaflet section and the labels.

Prescriptions and recognising mistakes.

1.5 hours.

24191

All prescription requirements, how to label medicinal products and the importance of patient information leaflets.

Labelling of medicinal products (with the exception of which warnings to put on the containers),

Drug interactions when 2 or more medicines are prescribed..

2.5 hours.

24291

It's great.

Prescription testing.

The labels.

2.5 hrs. This package is very good.

24391

Things which were given in "Pharmacy Practice" lectures, but in a more effective way.

The text is clear and colourful, makes it easy to read & learn; also the additional information from clicking on the different coloured words was extremely convenient & useful.

The sections were okay; only the "mouse" didn't always go to where I want. Clicking on the right bit is not always easy.

I spent about one and a half hour on this package. Very good. Clear & attractive & more efficient to learn all these materials this way rather than just copying notes in lectures. The test bit was good, too.

24491

To familiarise us with problems that can arise in Community Pharmacy.

The prescription tests.

N/A

Two hours.

24591

Pharmacy practice.

The information was easy to understand but there was a lot to take in.

2 hrs.

24691

It was meant to help understand pharmacy practice and it helped to allow self assessment.

Patient information leaflets.

The theory is fine but, due to the fact that not much dispensing etc has been done it was not easy to know any interactions, dosing regimes, and the numbers for the warnings weren't known.

24791

Revise information learnt in lectures and to test our own knowledge.

The testing on patient information leaflets

Estimated time approx. 11/4 hr. I found the package v.helpful, the information was set out in an easy to understand manner and the 'testing' part was very good.

24881

Common examples of Problems in Community Practice, the law and ethics regarding the subject matter.

Labelling of Medicines.

About 2 hours, however I would have gone on longer had there been more material to work through.

24981

Understanding and practice of the regulations in pharmacy practice.

The use of the package and the clear explanation of all the actions.

The applications of some of the practice.

45 mins. I ought to get more practice.

25191

To check prescriptions carefully and to make sure there are no errors. To look for forgery in prescriptions. To label MP's properly.

I found the labelling section easy to grasp.

I didn't find looking for discrepancies on prescriptions difficult to grasp, but it was tricky.

The time spent is abut 2.5 hrs. I found this package easy to work through. If anything it's better than the lectures. Information actually sinks into to my brain!

25281

General procedures carried out by a pharmacist in a community practice i.e. checking prescriptions/labels, counselling etc.

Found all sections easy to grasp.

Nothing.

Spent 1.5 hours working with package. The package was very good, in particular the prescription section, concerning checking prescriptions were complete with no incompatibilities.

25491

The putting into practice of the theory learned in lectures - we learn easier through actually doing something.

Recognising mistakes on prescriptions.

Nothing really.

I spent about 1.5 hrs but would have liked a little extra time to read the information on Patient. Info. Leaflets. Also to read the 1st notes again.

25581

The legal requirements, to spot the errors/mistakes in the examples, more about the uses/potential of leaflets.

The majority of it was easy to grasp/understand.

Not much - can't think of any.

80 mins. The testing bits at the end are the most useful sections.

25691

Familiarise yourself with the kind of problems you'll encounter in community pharmacy.

Sections on prescriptions and labelling helpful - but I needed to do them more than once.

Different regimes for CD's + POM prescriptions regimes.

1.5 hrs but I'll do it again. V-useful package so we don't go 'cold' into the Dispensary.

25791

Basic information for assessing the validity of prescriptions and labels.

What to look for on prescriptions and labels.

An hour and a half - I found I learnt a lot in a very short period of time - I hadn't really used these packages before to help with work, but I will now.

25891

Legal Requirements and NHS Stipulations Re 'Scripts, Labelling etc. Correct evaluation of info. on 'scripts, for accuracy etc.

Checking if into. is correct on the script, in terms of date, signatures etc.

We don't yet know the shorthand or Latin codes for dosage frequencies so these are a mystery! Otherwise not difficult to grasp, just to retain.

c.2 hrs. A very good package. It was just as well I carry the BNF etc. everywhere, as this would have been a difficult exercise without it! It seems to be very appropriate for our course, but will be even more useful to repeat when we have done some dispensing and are more familiar with scripts.

25981

Generally to get a feel for checking prescriptions for accuracy, correct labelling and the effectiveness of PILs

The need for clear labelling.

Spotting some omissions/errors on prescriptions, but I did improve during the package.

~ 1hr. 20 mins. to complete the package. The package was very helpful and even enjoyable to use.

26081

How to solve problems occurring in community pharmacy.

Most of it.

Nothing, but being told where to obtain canselling codes on the labelling section would have been handy!

1hr 15mins. The labelling section was too fussy about positioning of the arrow when spotting errors. It was easy enough to spot the mistake, but trying to get the computer to understand that I knew was a little irritating at times.

26181

Identifying mistakes and correcting them for various P/criptions, learning to label Mps and identify and correct mistakes on labels before dispatching the MPs.

Most of the things are fairly easy to grasp.

Mainly about contraindications of some drugs, which I have never heard of!

Around 2 hours; would like to have a list of contraindications and interactions of medicines as part of menu and also the list of advisory notes on labelling!

26281

The legal requirement for prescriptions that are to be dispensed and the relevant labelling requirements, some errors encountered with these items, the effectiveness of patient information leaflets.

The minimum requirements for prescriptions and labels, how to spot mistakes and how to maximise the effectiveness of information.

Nothing was too difficult to understand.

Time spent working with the package about 1 hour 10mins.

26391

Everything you would need to know if working in a community pharmacy, and what would be second nature to a pharmacist.

Understood most things - the numerous tests on prescriptions and labels were a great help!

Some of the details on private prescriptions and scripts for controlled drugs.

Approx. 1.5 hours. Hadn't yet learnt about relevant warnings for labels, and had nothing to refer to.

26481

Each package reviewed the essential aims and objectives of that topic - good revision tool.

The subject matter covered in each topic was presented in an understandable and concise manner

1.5 hrs spent. About an hour more would have enabled a more complete use of the 3 packages.

26591

Legal requirements.

Most of it.

Incompatible drugs in testing of prescriptions.

About 1hr 30mins. Good, may have been helpful to evaluate scores at the end of the activity for personal use. Should have supplied list of cautionary labels on sections of labelling when required.

26691

How to correctly check prescriptions and labels for mistakes. Also learn about patient information leaflets.

Labelling.

1.5 hrs. Working through the package helped me to consolidate the information that I already knew, whilst also teaching me new facts.

26781

The correct presentation of the above three topics and finding mistakes if they have any.

All the information presented was easy to grasp.

N/A

About an hour. The package is well presented and it will take a bit more time (time spent on the package) to get much more confident on Pharmacy practice.

26891

About how different prescriptions are written and the correct way of writing prescriptions and labels.

Got a better understanding of how different prescriptions are correctly written out.

Approximately 1.5 hrs. Got a much more better understanding after having used the package.

26991

How to critically evaluate a prescription, or label. To become familiar with common labelling mistakes made and/or risks.

The labelling section (spot the errors) etc...)

The 1st section about different types of prescriptions e.e. differences when prescribing CD or emergency supplies.

I was not able to begin the 3rd section (patient leaflets). about 1.5 hours was spent on the package. In general quite helpful, but could have been made more interactive in the 1st section and defined terms used more often for those who have not yet encountered them (i.e. vacational training etc....)

27091

Problem solving in Community Practice, information of leaflets, labelling and prescriptions.

Labels.

None.

1.25 hours approximately. The package was extremely helpful and a great source for learning from.
