This is a program about different aspects of recombitant DNA technology that begins with an introduction on the gene cloningin procariote and cucariote cells, getting inside further aspects as different purification methods and its manipulation.

First introductory part about gene cloning has been explained in a quite complete and detailed way, that makes it easily understandable. The various steps to be performed are accompanied with animation techniques and good diagrams, that make comprehension easier and goingthrough the program tediousless. As far as enzymes used in DNA manipulation is concerned, is also quite completeand detailed, spelling out all enzymes seperately. The explanation is joined with very clearand easily understandable graphics.

Each stage is ending with a summary of the activity, that is very fitting for reviewing the activity been developed. Also, as with others PCCAL packages, the different stagesinclude a succession of case study questions which allows checking whetherthe student has been working through different activities.

In our opinion this is a quite complete package which can easily introduce students to this kind of technology. Also in our opinion , would be desirable and practical applications of these techniques, specially in health areas , were introduced. Anyway, as it's already said at the beginning of the package, these sort of applications are to be included in further versions.
