This is a unique product which deals in an interesting and unintimidating way with many aspects of laboratory safety. Amongst these are handling glassware, dispensing liquids, the use of centrifuges, autoclaves, heating baths and compressed gases, and comprehensive sections on laboratory first aid and fire safety. The information contained in this package is by no means superficial and, whilst originally intended for undergraduate use, much of the content might equally prove of significant use in industrial training. The user-interface is clear, uses colour sensibly and makes navigating through the mammoth content a simple task. Frequent, often taxing, questions keep the user involved and the generally pleasing use of graphics makes the whole process fun. Many questions involve dragging and dropping answers into appropriate boxes - these work extremely well. Not quite so convincing are the minority of textual answers which must be typed in. These questions are rendered potentially frustrating by phrasing which, whilst not ambiguous, leaves the user trying to find the 'correct' synonym. This very minor drawback is vastly outweighed by the sheer volume of information this package can deliver interactively in a short space of time

This is a superb title and an invaluable educational tool which will, I am sure, find wider use than was the orginal intent.
