40891

What it was about

Prescriptions

Labelling

I spent about 2-3 hours in total to work through the package

41291

Legal aspects of practice of pharmacy and to study labels and prescriptions in more detail

Prescription requirement, the labelling requirements were very well worded and much easier to grasp than the legal section on labels in the Medics and Ethics Guide

-

Spent about 2.5 -3 hours working with the package and taking additional notes from it as the info. Was very well presented.

4161

How to spot errors in prescriptions and to increase accuracy in dispensing and avoid legal and social errors

It was really easy to grasp

-

One hour.

42093

The main details and any further information which must be learnt for the course and not covered during lectures

The layout

-

Do not know.

42392

Key points re legal prescription requirements labels and PILS

All

None

50 minutes.

42781

How to recognise faulty scripts, labels and how to prepare patient information leaflets

The whole package on all three topics

n/a

Approx 10-12 hours. I feel that it is difficult to tell the computer what one thinks is wrong with a script. It is very frustrating knowing what is wrong with the prescription but being unable to inform the computer of this.

43091

Dispensing technique

-

-

I spent 3 hours doing the package, and it is very good but I still only have the same amount of confidence because this area is more practical work.

43393

Labelling, PILs, prescriptions and errors and getting the right answer

Everything-

4 hours/week

43481

Check doses and interactions on prescriptions and cautionary and advisory labels. Any points - such as checking whether the prescriptions complies with the medicines and ethics guidelines - for Cbs, differences between FP10, FP14 etc.

The legal requirements for prescriptions and requirements for labelling

None

Two 1 hour sessions - One on labelling, One on prescriptions - quiz at the end. Quiz was quite helpful.

43792

To be able to spot at a glance problems with prescriptions and labels viewed. To expand knowledge in this area.

The layout of the prescriptions and labels were clear and instructions easy to follow

Nothing

Approximately 1 hour.

43991

Enhance existing knowledge on areas covered

The entire layout was very easy to grasp

Nothing

4 hours. Divided time about 40 minutes at a time. I found the package helpful and good for consolidating knowledge on prescriptions especially before dispensing exams.

44283

Improve pharmaceutical dispensing techniques and more familiarisation to prescriptions

Prescriptions

-

`2 hours.

44391

The basic knowledge of dispensing and law

Yes

No

-

44583

-

Labels

-

4 hours.

44781

Reasoning abilities when it comes to prescriptions and legal requirements

Legal requirements - in a more challenging way ie - not just learning from a book - we had to think about exceptions

Patient Information Leaflet requirements

2 hours (+)

44981

Be able to solve problems in dispensing

-

None

1 hour.

45091

Legal requirements for prescriptions and labelling

Looking at legal requirements on prescriptions

Pharmacy laws were hard to grasp. Patient Information Leaflets

1 hour 30 minutes for prescriptions and labelling only.

451191

Legal requirements for scripts and labels. Clear and precise details/info. On Patient Information Leaflets. What things to include and relevant data

What sort of things in the scripts were wrong and on labels

Nothing

2 hours. I found it a bit repetitive and the 'blocks' of writing information I tended to lose concentration, so they tended to be bypassed.

45391

The contents and how to access info. From computer

Prescriptions and labels

I can't remember, didn't do much PIL

2 hours.

45591

The things to look for when dealing with the legal requirements of prescriptions and labelling

I found the labelling quite good and concise

The prescriptions requirements had a lot of variations to what we were actually being taught ie no ref. was made to that fact that a doctor's signature was different to the name of the doctor printed on the prescription

2 hours. The prescription section definitely needs some work done as it (see above) but the labelling section is very good. I did not get to the PIL section.

45691

Things that I may not have know previously or may have forgotten

Most things - prescriptions

-

1.5 hours.

45881

To be able to spot problems with the prescriptions and learn why there's a problem and what may result from asking the Dr. to alter the prescription

All of it

None of it

1-2 hours.

45992

Legal requirements for prescriptions correct dosages blacklisted drugs on NHS

Prescriptions

Patient Information Leaflets

One hour. Some things on prescription were left out eg Title of patient.

46193

Can get more information

-

-

Once or twice a week

46281

General overview on prescriptions and labels

Prescriptions

n/a

2.5 hours on problem solving in Community Practice.

46383

Requirements of labelling, law and prescription requirements

Labelling

Law

It took me 2 hours to go through the package. I scored an average of 65%.

46791

Requirements for prescriptions and labels and how to see if they are correct

All of it

-

1.5 hours - I didn't have enough time to do Patient Information Leaflets as I thought the scripts and labels were more important.

47092

How to assess prescriptions and labels for validity. Have an idea of PIL and the general layouts.

What should be legally on a prescription. What form a label should take

In some cases, a warning was required on a prescription but sometimes I didn't have the BNF with me, so it was difficult to answer the question

3 hours. It was good package in the sense it gave an overview of what we need to know. I think it is very useful for 1st year students to get the basic information on prescriptions, labels and PIL. It was useful to me, as a second year to test my law knowledge.

47191

Prescription and labelling requirements for HNS and private prescriptions

Most of the sections were fairly easy to grasp

No

About 2 hours.

47291

It was supposed to improve my skills in reading and understanding prescriptions and become more accurate

The packages were easy to use, it was quite easy to grasp the method of clicking with the mouse button on the screen

-

1.5 hours for the 3 sections.

47982

Identify mistakes, illegalities made on scripts and labels and learn how they should have been written/compiled

Labelling

Nothing

3 hours. Could have been more comprehensive/detailed on the prescriptions eg endorsements, what the pharmacist has to do with the completed prescription.

48291

About practical dispensing in the Pharmacy

The use of the package

Nothing

1.5 hours on GSh.

48391
