This package relates to activities involved in the practice of pharmacy, with particular emphasis on
community pharmacy. The aims are that the user will learn the following practical pharmaceutical
skills and information:
- What the requirements are for the different types of prescription. The user will learn to identify
errors on the different prescriptions and understand the course of action that should be taken
upon discovering an error.
- What the labelling requirements are for dispensed items. The user will learn how to create
labels for dispensed items and how to identify errors on existing labels.
- What guidelines are available to help pharmacists to design patient information leaflets. The
users should then be able to create their own leaflets.

For each section, the user is given the appropriate background information followed by examples
illustrating the information. There are then practice questions which allow the users to test
whether they have understood the information. These practice questions are highly interactive and
feedback is given to every user response.

Hardware and Software Requirements
Windows Version
The package is supplied on a CD-ROM Installation Disc and can be installed to a local hard disc or network drive.
The minimum requirement is a PC with 100MHz Pentium processor , 8Mb of RAM and a VGA monitor capable
of displaying 16-bit color (65, 536 colors) at 640 x 480 resolution. The program is 32-bit and is compatible with Windows 95, 98 and NT.
Web Version
The package is supplied on a CD-ROM Installation Disc for installation to a web server. The software runs on PC clients only. The minimum requirement is a 200MHz Pentium processor with 32Mb of RAM and a Super VGA monitor capable of displaying 16-bit color (65,536 colors) at 800 x 600 resolution. The program is compatible with both Netscape Navigator 4.x and Internet Explorer 4 or better and requires Java and Javascript to be enabled on browsers.
