Contents of Package

This is a teaching/review package which is split into three areas:

Normal Prescriptions for Controlled Drugs

This section takes the user through FP10, F10(HP), FP14 and private prescriptions. The requirements for each prescription are covered fully, considering both good practice and the law. Issues such as forgery are also discussed.

Prescriptions for Addicts

This section covers both the FP10(HP)(ad) (issued by doctors in drug treatment clinics) and the FP10(MDA) (issued by GPs) prescriptions. The section also outlines the correct procedures to be followed on receipt of the prescription, when dispensing and when endorsing the prescription.

The Controlled Drugs Register

The controlled drugs register is described. This includes both the sections for receipt and supply as well as the separate sections for each class of drug. The user is given both general rules for filling in the register and details of the specific information required. Examples are also given.

The package makes extensive use of graphics and interaction in order to enliven what is often perceived as a dull subject.

Note:
The laws and requirements discussed apply only in England and Wales - Scotland and other countries have different laws which are not covered.
