The package consists of series of self-assessment questions on various aspects of organic chemistry. While answering a series of questions, students are at all times informed of how well they are doing, and an inbuilt recording facility also allows staff to see how each of the students is performing.

Contents

The package is divided into five sections:

Section 1: Chemical Structures
This section tests the student's understanding of common pharmaceutical structures. On completion of the section, the student should be able to identify simple pharmaceutical structures and name simple pharmaceutical structures using trivial names.

Section 2: Functional Groups
This section tests whether the student can identify and name functional groups within pharmaceutically relevant compounds.

Section 3: Functional Interconversions
This section tests whether the student knows the chemical reagents and conditions needed to convert chemical compounds from one functional group to another.

Section 4: Isomerism
This section tests the student's understanding of isomeric compounds. On completion of the section, the student should be able to identify and name the different types of isomers for a range of chemical compounds.

Section 5: Chemical Tests
In this section, the student is asked to say what chemical tests are used to test for the presence of a variety of organic compounds.
